Today a gentleman at work told me I had the “spirit of Sedgwick” about me and I don’t think I’ve ever been more flattered.

It made me laugh to saw this message in my ask box few minutes after reading something written by my best friend about the fact to be a man, haha. Anyway, this is not the first time I receive an anon like you, and sadly not the last. And, to keep my honor, I need to answer to your ask this way.
I am sorry to be a boy. Honestly, it hurts. Because nowadays, many people (and mostly girls and women) want to meet men who are like fairy tales princes: beautiful, brave, loyal, strong and other stuffs like that. But not all the guys you will meet will be like that. Boys don’t cry is the shittiest excuse I have ever heard from a women, because we do. As if we should be perfect and never show a sign of weakness to your eyes. We also can have eating disorders and heartaches, we can self-harm us and feel like shit everyday. We can get depressed and commit suicide because our princess has left. Mine does, and I am sorry to pollute your dash with all my feelings. We are sensitive, enamored, dreamers. This is not a girly thing, this is simply the humanity. But when I hear a woman saying “all the men are the same”, it breaks my heart, because she was not able to choose a right man but only a jerk. I have no pride to be a boy, just the pride to be a human and to be conscious that I feel something, even if it is sadness.
You know, when you cry and see the world falling all over you, never your tears will ask themselves the sex of the cheeks they dig.

Just reblogging because THIS answer represents perfectly how I feel. While sending this kind of message, you, poor anon, just makes you part of the “old” (sorry but I can’t find my words in English u_u) way of thinking. You want us to be a rock which is just here to work, gain money and keep the door open for you ? No. We are human, not a fucking machine. (This pisses me off, really, I better stop here because pkjohgopmjhgfdsiolohgifdfiohgfv grrrrraaaaah.)
